Overview

Nestled in the vibrant 3rd arrondissement at 5 Rue des Filles du Calvaire, Cosi - Paris offers a distinctive café experience that skillfully blends Italian warmth with Parisian charm. This restaurant, born from the passion of a New Zealand owner captivated by Italian culture and opera, stands out not only for its inviting ambiance but also for its commitment to freshly baked goods and thoughtful, quality ingredients.

The heart of Cosi lies in its artisanal focaccia bread, baked fresh on site daily. Whether enjoying the simple yet satisfying Focaccia Nature or the more indulgent Foccacia Stonker, the bread serves as the perfect foundation for their standout sandwiches. Customers frequently rave about the roast beef sandwich and the tandoori turkey, both noted for their freshness and balance of flavors, enhanced by crisp, sweet baby tomatoes and carefully chosen toppings.

Cosi’s menu is approachable yet rich with variety. Alongside their savory offerings, there’s a delightful array of desserts—most notably, the apple crumble, which has been acclaimed as some of the best in Paris, often paired with a delicate dollop of crème fraîche. The Soup of the Day and fresh Salade de Fruits provide lighter options, catering well to diverse tastes including vegetarian diners.

The atmosphere inside Cosi is relaxed but curated, featuring a playlist that complements the culinary journey and a staff that provides warm, attentive service. Whether you choose to dine in this cozy spot or take your meal on the go, the experience feels personal and genuine—a refreshing touch amid Paris’s bustling café scene.

Cosi appeals to locals and visitors alike who seek a casual yet refined lunch or snack with a fresh, handmade feel. Its location in a lively neighborhood makes it an ideal stop for anyone exploring Paris’s cultural and culinary landscape. Frequent patrons appreciate not only the food but the sense of personality imbued into every detail, from the cheerful staff to the deliberate menu choices.

In essence, Cosi - Paris is a gem for those who value fresh baking, quality sandwiches, and authentic ambiance, delivering a vibrant taste of both Italian-inspired craft and Parisian lifestyle.

This is a great little place in Paris. There are two of these, but I have only been to this one. The staff tells me that the owner is from New Zealand, enjoys opera music and a lot more Italian culture, so he does what all Italian lovers do, and moves to Paris. The result is a gorgeous cafe with lovely staff, a lovely playlist, amazing fresh baked focaccia bread with fresh toppings. I had a tandoori turkey sandwich and the baby tomatoes were so fresh and sweet and complemented everything. €14.50 gets you one of their high end sandwiches, a drink, and THE BEST Crumble I've had in ages - with a little dollop of creme fraîche. It's already fairly popular so I doubt I'm doing anyone a favour here but it's lovely and a place with a genuine personal touch to what the business is all about, and with all the trendy places popping up all the time, it's great to see a place with just as much cool, but also it's own personality. I hope it continues to do well.

The sandwich I got with turkey had no reason to be so good. I think I just unlocked my new favorite lunch spot in Paris. €10 for a pretty big sandwich it was actually so tasty. It came out quick and I devoured the whole thing. Can’t wait to try one of their other sandwiches. They also have salads.

I came to Paris for a month and tried a lot of different restaurants, but found myself coming back to Cosi again and again. Their bread is freshly baked onsite. All the desserts are great. The Inés and the Tom Dooley sandwich’s are amazing! The staff was super helpful and the food was prepared quickly. I highly recommend Cosi!
